Born and raised in communist Albania, Ilir Shehu spent his formative years learning how to adapt, persevere, and navigate life under scarcity. Leaving Albania at the age of 16, Ilir went to work in Greece, where he carried with him a deep appreciation for resilience, resourcefulness, and human connection—values that would shape both his career and his worldview.
For most of his professional life, Ilir worked as a chef, mastering not only the craft of food but the art of hospitality. Years in the kitchen honed his attention to detail, creativity, and ability to bring people together around shared experiences. Food became a universal language—one that told stories, bridged cultures, and created lasting memories.
Recognizing Albania’s untapped potential as a destination rich in history, landscapes, and authentic culture, Ilir saw an opportunity to bring the world to Albania. This vision led to the founding of his tour company, built on the same principles that guided his culinary career: care, authenticity, and excellence. Today, Ilir designs immersive travel experiences that go beyond sightseeing, inviting guests to truly connect with Albania’s hidden gems.
